How to Evaluate an Electric Scooter Factory's Quality Control

Start with Incoming Component Inspection

Electric two-wheelers combine mechanical and electrical systems. The factory should have a process for checking important incoming parts such as frames, motors, batteries, controllers, chargers, displays, lights, brakes, tires, wiring, and plastic panels.

Ask how suppliers are approved, which parts are inspected, how nonconforming materials are handled, and whether inspection records can be linked to a production batch.

Confirm Battery and Charger Controls

The battery and charger require special attention. Confirm the agreed cell type, capacity, voltage, connector, charger input, labeling, and packaging. Ask how the factory verifies that the battery, controller, motor, and charger are compatible.

Importers should also identify the documents and transportation requirements applicable to batteries in their destination and shipping route.

Use a Final Specification Sheet

A signed specification sheet helps prevent misunderstandings. It should record the model, colors, motor, battery, controller, charger, brakes, tires, lights, display, accessories, labels, manuals, packaging, and spare parts.

Any approved change should be documented. Verbal confirmation alone is not enough for a mass-production order.

Plan Pre-Shipment Inspection

Importers can arrange an internal inspection, video inspection, or third-party inspection before shipment. The inspection plan should define the sample quantity, checkpoints, acceptance criteria, and method for handling defects.

Packaging should also be checked. Confirm carton condition, internal protection, vehicle fixation, accessories, marks, and loading quantities.
